The 1991/92 season was one of transition and redemption for Blackpool FC. Under Billy Ayre, the Seasiders bounced back from disappointment the previous year to mount another strong push for promotion from the Fourth Division.
Led by Dave Bamber’s goals and the energy of a determined squad, Blackpool finished 5th, earning a place in the playoffs. After a tense run, they triumphed at Wembley, defeating Scunthorpe United on penalties to secure promotion to the new Division Two (Third Tier).
It was a season defined by perseverance, teamwork, and the start of a new chapter — with the famous tangerine shirts back on the rise in English football.
