The 1998/99 season saw Domenico Morfeo join AC Milan from Atalanta, as one of Italy’s most technically gifted young playmakers. Known for his creativity, close control, and flair, Morfeo arrived at the San Siro with high expectations.
However, injuries and competition for places limited his impact during the campaign. He made just 10 appearances in Serie A, contributing as a squad player under manager Alberto Zaccheroni.
Despite his limited role, Morfeo was part of the Scudetto-winning squad, as Milan dramatically clinched the 1998/99 Serie A title, finishing just one point ahead of Lazio. It was a season of tactical discipline and resilience for Milan, and although Morfeo didn’t feature heavily, he earned a Serie A winner’s medal — the only one in his career.
